A Western Australian court has issued a warrant for the arrest of former AFL star Ben Cousins after he failed to appear at court yesterday.
Cousins had been due to appear before Fremantle Magistrates Court to face charges of refusing to stop for a breath test, but ABC News reports that his lawyer told the court that Cousins had to attend a scheduled medical appointment at that time.
Cousins was given until 4:00pm to produce appropriate medical documentation, but failed to do so, resulting in the warrant being issued.
It has not been a good month for the troubled AFL star, who was arrested in early March when he failed to stop for a breath test, and then led police on a short pursuit.

In a separate incident, Cousins was found wandering inside a Perth SAS barracks late at night, and was admitted to hospital.
A week later, Cousins was seen behaving erratically at a Sikh temple near his Perth home, and when police were called, attempted to abscond on foot.
