Sydney’s favorite brewery Young Henrys has combined forces with Oz Comic-Con to create a brand new Anti-Hero, as well as a signature beer for him. The result is an official signature beer for the event, and opportunities to totally drink it.
Allow us to introduce to you Dr. Röt Fifer. Part fever dream from Comic-Con, part nightmare from Young Henrys, and all-together a completely suspect and sinister fella. The disturbed individual was brought to life by the highly unorthodox methods of Melbourne artist Doug Holgate who created the Doctor to have two main passions – his bloody pied piper melodies and of course, Vienna Lager.
Which is why the official signature beer of the Doctor and indeed Oz Comic-Con will be Dr. Röt Fifer.’s Vienna Lager, naturally.
“We give all our beers character and personality but it was especially amazing to work with legendary comic artist Doug Holgate to actually see the characteristics personified into the limited edition artwork that is Dr Röt Fifer. It’s also been interesting to find out how many of our staff are closet comic and graphic novel fans – including a few comic tattoos!” says Oscar McMahon, Co-founder of Young Henrys Brewery.
Oz Comic-Con will make its way up and down the East Coast first in Melbourne come June 11 before returning in September for Sydney and Brisbane.
