Discovery Networks Announces Summer 2016 Programming Slate

Summer has officially arrived and Discovery and its networks are celebrating by unveiling its complete schedule for the season. Kicking off Discovery’s red-hot programming slate is everyone’s favorite annual event Shark Week, airing throughout primetime from Sunday, June 26th to Sunday, July 3rd beginning at 8pm, followed by the debut of original Canadian series Made By Destruction airing back-to-back episodes on Mondays at 7pm and 7:30pm beginning July 4th; and original Canadian special Jupiter: Close Encounter airing Tuesday, July 5th at 7pm.

The summer slate continues with all-new series and specials joining the mix of premieres. Airing Sundays at 7 p.m. and 7:30pm beginning July 10th, Discovery joins six top recording artists to share stories of the animal kingdom in Hello World!, which will feature featuring Christina Aguilera. Then, later this summer, Discovery travels beneath the ocean’s surface in Sonic Sea to uncover the damaging consequences of increased ocean noise pollution, airing Sundays at 7pm beginning July 31st – it is narrated by Oscar-nominated actress Rachel McAdams. Throughout the summer months, Discovery will feature new episode debuts from current seasons of hit series including Alaskan Bush People (Mondays at 9pm), Bitchin’ Rides (Thursdays at 9pm), and Bering Sea Gold (Sundays at 10pm).

Viewers can also catch up on full episodes of Discovery series live and on demand on the Discovery GO app and at Discovery.ca. Coming later this summer, viewers can preview  exclusive Discovery GO content including close encounters with humans and animals in 9-1-1 Encounters, recollect the worst nuclear catastrophe in history from Life After Chernobyl, and join rocker Billy Gibbons as he fulfills his wildest hot rod desires in Rockin’ Roadsters.
