Beyonce tops the list of this year’s Video Music Awards, which were announced today via mural unveilings on Facebook Live. The Queen Bae earned 11 VMA nominations for videos from her epic visual album “Lemonade,” including “Video of the Year.” Adele came in second with eight nominations, but it’s a bit misleading as seven of them were for “Hello.” The leading ladies main competition for the top VMA prize will be Drake’s “Hotline Bling” video that launched a million memes. Kanye West’s controversial (don’t the words go together like peanut butter and jelly) “Famous” video featuring a naked celebrity sleepover got two nominations, “Video of the Year” and “Best Male Video,” but his rival and MTV favorite, Taylor Swift, was noticeably absent from the nominees. No Swift “fake surprise faces” makes this year’s VMAs that much more watchable. They will be broadcast on Sunday, August 28 at 9:00 p.m. ET live from Madison Square Garden in New York City.
