Civil War II has broken out in the Marvel Universe, and the battle lines have been drawn. But there’s at least one man who has refused to take a side in the conflict: Phil Coulson: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.!

Coulson has refused to follow orders from Maria Hill, and he now finds himself out of the very organization that he devoted his life to. But if you think that Coulson is gonna sit out of this superhero war then you don’t know him very well!

CraveOnline’s exclusive preview for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. # 8 finds Coulson breaking into the Alpha Flight space station for answers regarding Ulysses, the young Inhuman with the ability to accurately forecast the future. This time, Coulson has the chance to better understand the stakes in the war and how Ulysses’ power works. But while evading the station’s personnel, Coulson stumbles across a prediction that means doom for one of Marvel’s most iconic heroes!

For this issue, writer Marc Guggenheim is joined by artist German Peralta, with a cover by Mike Norton. Here’s what Marvel had to say about the issue:

Civil War II tie-in! Phil Coulson, agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. no more! Coulson has chosen a side in this war…his own! The Third Faction begins here. You are not going to want to miss this seismic-change issue.”
