Disney’s purchase of the rights to the Star Wars film franchise left many with a bitter taste in their mouths, wondering whether the multi-national corporation would ever be able to do justice to the creation of new films within George Lucas’ cinematic universe.
Those fears were mostly alleviated though, when Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Episode VII) opened to fan acclaim in December last year. Since then we’ve seen a captivating trailer for the first Star Wars spin-off film Rogue One, which is due for release this December, and now there’s some news regarding the second spin off – an as-yet-untitled film featuring a young Han Solo.
As well as Elden Ehrenreich being confirmed to play young Han Solo, there are now reports that actor and musician Donald Glover is shaping as the first choice to play solo’s close friend Lando Calrissian. According to BirthsMoviesDeaths, there hasn’t been an official offer yet, but Glover is reportedly the first choice for the role.
