Exclusive Preview |AfterShock Comics’ ‘Animosity’ # 2

Human beings may be on top of the food chain, but we are severely outnumbered by animals. Now imagine if the animals had the same cognitive abilities as humans, the ability to speak, and… they’re super pissed off about how they’ve been treated.

Welcome to the Wake, the inciting incident of Animosity, AfterShock Comics’ newest comic book series. Writer Marguerite Bennett and artist Rafael De Latorre have already introduced readers to Sandor, a bloodhound whose bond with his owner, Jesse was stronger than anything else. He even killed a talking tiger to protect her! And now that the Wake has taken hold, he may be the only being that can keep this young girl alive. Sandor has even adopted Jesse as his own daughter, which doesn’t exactly sit well with Jesse’s dad.

CraveOnline’s exclusive preview of Animosity # 2 finds Jesse’s dad reluctantly teaming up with Sandor one year after the Wake. And it doesn’t appear that Sandor is very happy when shots are fired, even when his own life was at stake.

Here’s AfterShock Comics’ solicitation text for Animosity # 2:

“One year after the Wake, all Animals have gained the powers of thought and speech–and the power to take revenge. New York City erupts as a battleground between the remains of the U.S. Government and the rise of the ferocious new Animilitary, who seek to carve out a peaceful homeland of their own. Caught in the middle is a Bloodhound and his 10-year-old adopted human daughter, desperate to escape the conflict, and find a haven at last…”

Animosity # 2 will be released on Wednesday, September 14 in comic book stores everywhere.
