Drake has been forced to cancel the rest of his tour due to an ongoing ankle injury, reports say. However, that hasn’t got the rapper down – he has also received 13 American Music Award nominations, more than any other artist.
Drake has beat out icon Michael Jackson and his 11 noms in 1984 when the artist released “Thriller.” Other noteworthy nominees include Rihanna (seven nominations), Adele and Justin Bieber (with five each), and Beyonce and The Chainsmokers (with four each). Bryson Tiller, Twenty One Pilots, Carrie Underwood, Fetty Wap and The Weeknd have been nominated three times each.
Drake had already cancelled several shows in New York and New Jersey because of his ankle, and newly cancelled concert cities include Toronto (on October 9th), Philadelphia (on October 13th) and Newark, New Jersey (on October 16th).
