Deadpool is heading back to the ’80s, and he’s going in style! Thanks to the retcon of Deadpool’s Secret Secret Wars, the Merc with a Mouth is responsible for screwing up the alien symbiote that went on to become Spider-Man’s black costume. Of course, that black costume went on to become Venom, and he’s been one of Spidey’s top adversaries ever since. Minus the whole Flash Thompson Agent Venom/Spaceknight phase.
But forget about all of that modern stuff! Writer Cullen Bunn, artist Salva Espin, and colorist Ruth Redmond are taking us back to a simpler time, somewhere around Web of Spider-Man # 1, where Peter Parker rejected the symbiote. In the Deadpool: Back in Black miniseries, the symbiote has reunited with Deadpool for a series of misadventures!
