If you haven’t seen Narcos yet, firstly, WTF? Secondly, lucky you; some immense Netflix bingeing awaits. If you have seen it, it’s time to get excited, because the real-life DEA Agents who are portrayed in the show, Javier Pena and Steve Murphy, are heading to Australia.
Pena and Murphy will be hitting up Sydney and Melbourne for just one night in each city, to put on the event Capturing Pablo – An Evening with Javier Pena & Steve Murphy.
Pena and Murphy will discuss the rise and fall of the infamous Medellin Cartel and the role they played in their final capture of drug lord Pablo Escobar. There will be exclusive unheard tales and images never aired in Narcos. You’ll also be able to ask them any burning questions the series didn’t answer in an audience Q&A session.
These DEA legends are key to the whole crime series that is Narcos, which unearths the dark underground of Colombia’s infamous drug cartels. It follows Escobar’s fight to maintain his status against the DEA’s mission to take him down.
Escobar has gone down in history as one of the most violent, wealthiest, and powerful criminals of the 20th century. He worked with drug traffickers, which ultimately formed the Medellin Cartel. He went on to control more than 80 per cent of all the cocaine distributed in the US, and he was one ruthless MF.
