These Pro Athletes Believe The Earth Is Flat

While Kyrie Irving is certainly one of the best basketball players on the globe, he would argue that’s not the case. Not because he’s humble, but because he evidently believes there is no globe.

Irving, 24, the Cavs star who hit one of the most clutch shots in NBA Finals history last summer and attended Duke University, believes the Earth is flat.

This is what Irving said on a recent podcast:

“For what I’ve known for many years and what I’ve been taught is that the Earth is round, but if you really think about it from a landscape of the way we travel, the way we move and the fact that — can you really think of us rotating around the sun, and all planets align, rotating in specific dates, being perpendicular with what’s going on with these ‘planets’ and stuff like this.”

[…]

“Everything that they send [to space] doesn’t come back. It doesn’t come back. There is no concrete information, except for the information that they’re giving us. They’re particularly putting you in the direction of what to believe and what not to believe, and the truth is right there. You’ve just got to go searching for it. I’ve been searching for it for a while.

Irving even double-downed on his thoughts in a recent interview:

So where do meteors come from?

Where is the sun, the moon, the stars?

All the astronauts that … Ahhhh, forget it! I can’t believe I even have to try to defend the argument.

What’s even more shocking is that two other pro athletes have stepped up to share the same beliefs.

Stefon Diggs, Minnesota Vikings wideout, had this to say on Twitter:

And then Warriors forward Draymond Green came out and supported Irving, the flat-earth truther! “It’s just his opinion — it’s hard to call someone’s opinions crazy,” he said. “That’s just what he thinks.”

No, Draymond. Saying the Earth is flat is not an opinion because it’s a fact that the Earth is a sphere. Saying the Warriors will lose again to the Cavs in the NBA Finals — THAT would currently be an opinion.

Oy vey.

Diggs went to the University of Maryland. Green went to Michigan State. Just food for though.
