Marvel Reveals The ‘Astonishing X-Men’ Art Team

Earlier this month, Marvel announced that writer Charles Soule was set to launch Astonishing X-Men, a new ongoing series with several fan favorite members of the team, including a few who haven’t been a part of the X-Men books for years. However, Marvel neglected to include the information about the book’s art team until now.

Via Marvel.com, it has been revealed that Astonishing X-Men will not have a regular artist. Instead, it will feature a rotating group of A-list comic book artists starting with Jim Cheung, who drew the cover image below. After the first issue, Cheung will be followed by Ron Garney, ACO, Phil Noto, Greg Land, Ramon Rosanas, and additional artists to be announced at a later time.

Soule also briefly teased the returning villains in the book. “I want it to feel like a nice reveal, but the way the story is designed I can pull in bad guys from literally any era of Marvel history. The book is built like a bit of a puzzle box, with multiple layers of reveals. Part of the fun of certain ‘X’-stories is speculating about what’s really going on, and this is definitely one of those.”
