And that’s all it takes to go viral these days: stand still while a bunch of tiny rocks hit you in the face.
Last year around the same time it was all about some high school kid flipping a water bottle that rocked the internet, and now this time it’s just a kid standing still and by himself during a hail storm, all while his classmates run for cover. And thanks to a Twitter user named Mel, who filmed the scene and added the song “Mad World” to the background, this hilarious and bizarre clip has gone viral, as at the moment it has close to 88,000 retweets and counting.

Now the internet is trying to figure out just what in the hell that kid was doing out there. Some folks think he’s just lonely, while others think he got stood up or he just doesn’t care anymore. But whatever the reason is I hope he knows that he now has plenty of pals on the internet.
