There are a lot of stars that will be joining this year’s instalment of Montreal Comicon, which runs from July 7-9. Here’s just a glimpse into their guest list.
Comic book artist Glenn Fabry
Glenn Fabry’s career began in 1985, drawing Slaine for 2000 AD, with writer Pat Mills. He also worked with Mills on the newspaper strip Scatha in 1987. Painted work followed in Crisis, Revolver and Deadline. In 1991, he took over painting the covers of Hellblazer, then written by Garth Ennis. Glenn is currently working on Rogue Trooper covers for IDW, Carnage Vs Deadpool Covers for Marvel and Mute with director Duncan Jones for Darkhorse Comics.
David Tennant
David Tennant (born David John McDonald) is a Scottish actor best known for his role as the 10th Doctor on the international hit series Doctor Who. He reprised his role as the 10th incarnation of the Doctor for the 50th anniversary special, The Day of the Doctor, in 2013. In 2015, he appeared in Netflix’s Jessica Jones, playing the mind-controlling, villainous Kilgrave to perfection.
John Tench
Tench has worked on many feature films and TV series such as American Gods, Alias Grace, Brokeback Mountain, Shooter, Watchmen, Fringe, Supernatural and The X-Files. He has written and directed several shorts and three screenplays. He’s been nominated for numerous awards in the Best Actor Category. He is a master of accents and dialects and voices many cartoons and animation. He also teaches and coaches actors.
Kevin Conroy
Twenty-five years ago, Batman: The Animated Series cemented Kevin Conroy as the definitive voice of Batman. Most recently, Kevin returned to voice the iconic Batman role in a trilogy of blockbuster video games, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City and Batman: Arkham Knight. It was also just announced that he will return as the Dark Knight in the video game Injustice 2, slated for release in May 2017.
Jonathan Dubsky
Dubsky is a Montreal native now living in Toronto. Game enthusiasts will recognize Jonathan as Josh, one of the lead “hacktivists” in Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs 2, which launched in November 2016. On the big screen, he has appeared in the films Beastly (2011) with Vanessa Hudgens and MaryKate Olsen, Warm Bodies (2013) with Nicholas Hoult, Pawn Sacrifice (2013) opposite Tobey Maguire and Liev Schreiber and The Scarehouse (2014) alongside Sarah Booth.
