Gorillaz have announced a European tour in promotion of their new album Humanz, but there’s a catch: if you want be in with a chance of attending, you’ll probably have to buy their album first.
The tickets, which will go on sale in the UK on Friday at 9am BST, will sell for a thoroughly reasonable £30. During the tour, the band will play at the Brighton Centre, Glasgow’s SSE Hydro, Birmingham’s Barclaycard Arena and London’s O2 Arena, along with flying to Brussels, Berlin, Paris and more. However, the vast majority of these tickets are likely to be sold during the tour’s pre-sale on Wednesday, which is only available to those who have purchased Humanz.
This pre-sale, which will require fans to sign up on the official Gorillaz site before 5pm BST, will also be available to those who purchased Humanz prior to the announcement of the pre-sale. The band are offering a discounted sale price of £7.99 for the album ahead of the ticket sale.
Considering that Humanz is the first new Gorillaz album since 2010’s The Fall, it’s expected that many will take advantage of this pre-sale in order to secure their tickets before Friday. If you want to be in with a chance of attending one of these shows, then looks like you’re also going to have to lay down the cash for the album, too.
