The most anticipated fight in years is finally happening. Floyd Mayweather is taking on Conor McGregor in Las Vegas on August 26.
The fight will be broadcast on Showtime PPV and fought at 154 pounds.
The fact that an MMA star is actually getting in the ring with the greatest boxer of the decade is mind-numbing to many. Add to the fact that Mayweather is 40-years-old and been semi-retired for two years, and McGregor has never fought within the rules of a professional boxing match, and there’s not even a title up for grabs, many feel this fight is a money-grab and nothing else; many feel it’s a joke.
Who will win? Totally depends on who you ask.
The fans have faith in the MMA guy.

But, those who appear to be more educated on professional fighting seem to agree that McGregor is going to get his ass kicked.
Deadspin said, “McGregor has roughly as much chance of beating Mayweather in an actual boxing match as you do of beating Kobe Bryant in a dunk contest.
How do the Vegas odds-makers feel? Mayweather is a -1,100 favorite at the Westgate SuperBook, with McGregor paying back +700. Mmmhmm.
You at least have to love the smack talk already being blasted from one corner of the ring.

Even if the media thinks McGregor will get his brains bashed in, dammit, I can’t help it. I’ll be watching this fight. And so will you. And so will your mother.
Go ahead and block off August 26-27 on your calendar now.
If Mayweather wins this fight, he could finish his career at a perfect 50-0. He also earned a record $250 million for his fight against Manny Pacquiao two years ago. Many think he’ll earn roughly the same amount for this McGregor fight.
If McGregor wins, we’re talking an Irish version of Rocky Balboa.
The rules for the fight haven’t yet been set, and according to reports, the venue for the fight hasn’t been set yet either. But ticket prices so far are just a tiny bit pricey.
