He may be one of the greatest actors of our generation, but even Leonardo DiCaprio needs some pointers sometimes.
While DiCaprio went on to get an Oscar nomination for his fantastic portrayal of Jordan Belfort in the awesome movie The Wolf of Wall Street, he did need to do his research beforehand. And one of the things he had to learn? How to act like he was on drugs. According to Belfort he had to teach the 42-year-old actor how to act on drugs because he had never taken them before. If you say so, Leo.

“Leo had never done drugs, so I showed him what it looks and feels like when you are high on Quaaludes,” Belfort, told The New York Post. “I… started crawling around. We were both on the floor, drooling. His father walked into the room and asked us what the fuck we were doing.”
Hell, DiCaprio is also backing up this claim as apparently there is a tape of him and Belfort doing all this and he calls them the “lost Jordan tapes.” “He crawled around the floor to re-enact the stages of getting high. He wasn’t the greatest actor, but he certainly gave me the inspiration,” DiCaprio told Daily Mail in an interview.
This footage better show up on YouTube soon.
DiCaprio wasn’t the only one who had to pretend to be on drugs as his co-star Jonah Hill had to do a bunch of fake cocaine, but unfortunately for Hill it did quite some damage on him.
“I did so much fake cocaine in Wolf of Wall Street I got bronchitis for three weeks. I had to be hospitalized,” Hill told Bill Simmons in an interview.
“It’s vitamin powder but it doesn’t matter because if you ingest that much matter into your lungs, you will get very sick. We were literally doing fake coke for, like, seven months, every day. I never had more vitamin D in my entire life; I could have lifted a car over my fucking head.”
Ha, amateurs, Jared Leto would have actually become a coke-head for the role.
