Once Upon A Time in Hollywood will be the first movie that Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt will be in together. It’s only fitting that the two biggest movie stars of their generation would make their dream team-up in a Quentin Tarantino movie.
Tarantino is an all-time great director but he is a film-lover first and foremost. Every movie he makes is an homage to the ones that have come before it. He understands cinema history and how we’ve been wanting to see DiCaprio and Pitt share the big screen for a long time.
Now we get to see DiCaprio play Rick Dalton, a faded television actor, while Pitt will star as his stunt double Cliff Booth, both of whom are striving to achieve fame and success in the film industry during the final years of Hollywood’s Golden Age in 1969 Los Angeles.
It’s only fitting that a movie very much about Hollywood would feature a dynamic duo at its core. The team-up movie is a Hollywood staple with a long list of legendary actors (Paul Newman and Robert Redford, John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson, Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis) who come together to create some of cinema’s greatest moments. Here’s a look back at some of the iconic team-ups in movie history.
