‘Pam & Tommy’: Jason Mantzoukas Voices Sebastian Stan’s Penis, Nothing Like a Tête-à-Tête With Tommy Lee’s Pee Pee

Jason Mantzoukas has a proclivity for playing bawdy scumbags. From live-action roles on Parks and Recreations and The League to voicing characters on Regular Show and American Dad, you can’t trust him and you should never take their advice. On screens big and small, one could say he’s very good at being a dick. As fate would have it, in the upcoming series Pam & Tommy, Mantzoukas will voice Tommy Lee’s (Sebastian Stan) penis.

From the ever-daring creative team that is Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the eight-episode miniseries follows the tumultuous romance between Mötley Crüe drummer Lee and Playboy model/Baywatch star Pamela Anderson (Lily James) in the mid-90s’. In particular, the series will focus on the couple’s 1995 sex tape, which was stolen by electrician Rand Gauthier (Rogen), porn producer Milton “Uncle Miltie” Ingley (Nick Offerman), and then leaked with the help of some mobsters and, of course, the internet. Although, no one would’ve said “of course” at the time…

According to Variety, episode 2 of Pam & Tommy will adapt a passage from Lee’s memoir, Tommyland, and take place right after the eponymous couple meets in Mexico (they would marry days later). Lee will have a heart-to-heart with his chatty genitalia (Mantzoukas) about Anderson, wondering whether he’s falling in love. Director Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya) described shooting the scene as “awkward. You’ve got four puppeteers working with an animatronic penis. And then, how much is too much, and do you start to lose his emotional torment of what’s going on? Hopefully, it works.

Stan, on the other hand, approached the scene as he would with any other acting partner, “by the end of it, I treated it like it was an intimate buddy conversation that one might have when they’re falling in love.”

Suffice to say, Pam & Tommy is about to give a whole new meaning to “thinking with your penis” when it hits Hulu on February 2.
