It’s about time somebody put their foot down where Kanye West is concerned. The born-again rapper, who is in the process of getting divorced from his baby mama Kim Kardashian (whether he likes it or not) has been actin’ a fool (to put it mildly) when it comes to losing the woman of his dreams. It’s gone beyond just your typical Yeezus eccentricity. He’s actively harassing Kardashian as well as her new boy toy, Pete Davidson, and anyone else who tries to defend them. And he’s doing it primarily through social media. That is, until Instagram shut him down.
Unfortunately, the photo and video-sharing platform only suspended his account for 24 hours, meaning that for a day he could not post, comment, or send direct messages. Meta, which owns Instagram, also deleted the content that violated their hate speech, bullying and harassment policies.
It’s not the first time Instagram intervened on a celebrity’s account, but it is perhaps the one instance where someone really deserved to get canceled on the platform. Check out these other celebrities and the Instagram sins that got their handles taken away.

Kanye West
Stick with us, ‘cause this one’s convoluted. Last week, Trevor Noah commented on The Daily Show that Ye’s “belligerent” behavior worried him. “You may not feel sorry for Kim because she’s rich and famous. But what she’s going through is terrifying to watch,” Noah said (among many other things). West responded in a totally passive-aggressive way by posting a screenshot of a Google search for Noah paired with a caption that featured the lyrics to “Kumbaya, My Lord.” Noah is South African, so this was considered a racial slur, and therefore violated Instagram’s policies.

Rob Kardashian
The black sheep of the Kardashian clan got banned from Instagram in 2017 after posting nude photos of his ex-fiancée Black Chyna. Though he returned to the platform two years later, he has lost posting privileges; instead, everything that goes on his account must be approved by him momager (aka Jenner Communications).

Rihanna
Ri-Ri was exiled from Instagram for six months after she posted her cover shot for French periodical Lui magazine, in which she appeared topless.

Chelsea Handler
The comedian wanted to mock Vladimir Putin’s infamous shirtless horseback riding shots, so she staged her own lookalike photo shoot. “anything a man can do, a woman has the right to do better #kremlin,” she captioned the image, which got her banned from Instagram. That’s OK; Twitter allowed the topless pic to circulate freely. “You can now find my dogs and my breasts on Twitter only where my followers have the right to choose what they say. Bye, bye instablock,” she tweeted.

Scout Willis
The daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis got in hot water with Instagram for posting a pic of a sweatshirt she designed that prominently featured two topless women. After being banned, she staged a protest by walking around New York City in a floral skirt and nothing else. “Legal in NYC but not on Instagram,” she tweeted along with the topless pics.

Madonna
The Queen of Pop got called out by Instagram, but it’s unclear which of her images was inappropriate. Madge received a generic warning telling her to delete any content that was in violation of the platform’s Terms of Use. She seemed as baffled as everyone else, but fans guessed it was probably her cleavage that caught a rule enforcer’s eye.
