On Thursday, DDG took to Instagram stories to announce that he and Halle Bailey have split. Addressing his followers, the rapper said, “After much reflection and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways. This decision was not easy, but we believe it’s the best part forward for both of us. I cherish the time we’ve spent together and the love we shared.”

DDG clarified that irrespective of the split and the changes in their relationship, their love for each other remains “deep and true.” He revealed that they are still “best friends” and continue to “adore each other.” He further stated that the duo will co-parent their son together.

The 26-year-old added, “As we focus on our individual journeys and our roles as co-parents, we cherish the bond we’ve built and the beautiful moments we’ve shared.” He then asked the fans and followers for support as the former couple navigated what would come next. He ended the announcement by expressing gratitude to followers for their “love and encouragement.”

In January, Halle Bailey and DDG announced on Instagram that they are proud parents of their son Halo, who was born in December 2023. According to Page Six, the pair were first speculated to be dating in January 2022 when they were spotted attending the Usher concert in Las Vegas. Then, in June, Bailey and DDG made their red carpet debut at the BET Awards.

In a 2022 interview with Essence, Bailey recalled what started her relationship with DDG. She said, “I grew up being on You- Tube and would always see the young Black creators and was constantly inspired by them. He was one of them.” She confessed that the two reconnected when DDG started putting up music, which is when it all began.
