Benny Blanco went candid about how Selena Gomez initiated their romantic relationship by making the first move. During a recent livestream with Kai Cenat, the music producer talked about the initial dating period of his current relationship. When Cenat questioned how Blanco asked Gomez out on their first date, the 36-year-old responded, “[Selena Gomez] asked me out.”

The response surprised Kai Cenat, and Blanco happily exclaimed, “It was crazy.” The music producer then went on to give the online streamer details about how the entire situation unfolded. Blanco revealed, “We were just talking and then she said you wanna get dinner?” He continued, “I went to dinner and I had no idea.”

Cenat asked him whether he was nervous about the dinner. Blanco admitted that he was not since he had been friends with Gomez for more than ten years. He said, “We’ve been friends for like 10 years plus maybe 15.” He told the streamer, “I met her when she was so much younger.” Thus, he felt like he was going for dinner with a good friend. “I didn’t even realize that we were on a date,” he said.

Benny Blanco further revealed that when he and Selena Gomez “hung out like two days later,” he started to realize that she liked him. This realization prompted him to kiss the actor, and since then, they have been going strong as a couple.
