The suspected killer was arrested at a McDonald’s outlet in Altoona, Pennsylvania, five days after the UnitedHealthcare CEO was shot and killed. Since then, there has been a rise in people supporting the alleged killer, with some now getting tattoos of his face and his words, “Deny, Defend, Depose.”

Social media is flooded with photos of Luigi Mangione supporters getting tattoos to commemorate the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Some have gotten the suspected killer’s face tattooed, while some others even had their tattoos depict the shooting. Supporters are also getting phrases like “Deny, Defend, Depose” tattooed — a phrase that was written on the shell casing discovered at the crime scene. Recently, an artist took to Instagram and shared a look at the Mangione portrait tattoo in a new photo. The words beside it read, “Delay Deny Defend.”
Besides the tattoos, Mangione supporters have also been donating to a defense fund. It has raised almost $150K as of now. The 26-year-old suspect is facing multiple charges in connection to the December 4 shooting of Thompson. The BBC reported that the counts include first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree murder. One of these reportedly describes the killing as an act of “terrorism.”
Mangione, whose bail was denied, is scheduled to appear for a court hearing on December 19. This proceeding will determine if the suspected killer will be extradited to New York on the charges. The same day, Mangione will also appear for his preliminary hearing on gun-related charges in Pennsylvania. The alleged killer was formally charged in the state following his arrest on December 9. The charges against Mangione in Pennsylvania include forgery, carrying firearms without a license, tampering with records or identification, possessing instruments of crime, and providing false identification to police.
Meanwhile, Mangione is also awaiting proceedings in the New York court system.
