It’s official: American Reunion will actually be an official reunion. Thomas Ian Nicholas, apparently the last old out of the original American Pie cast, has signed on to reprise the role of Kevin Myers in what will be the fourth theatrical release in the hit franchise, and the umpty-seven-bolillionth sequel overall if you count the straight-to-video entries. (Get it? If you can ‘count’ them? Oh man, we should be writing this movie. We know comedy.)
Hollywood Reporter once again reports from Hollywood that Nicholas has joined former cast members Jason Biggs, Eugene Levy, Seann William Scott, Tara Reid, Mena Suvari, Alyson Hannigan, Eddie Kaye Thomas and Chris Klein in the upcoming movie, which isn’t technically a full reunion since it leaves out Natasha Lyonne, Jennifer Coolidge and Shannon Elizabeth, but hey… We’re not going to be the jerks to point that out.
Nope. Not going to be the jerks.
American Reunion will be written and director by Harold and Kumar wunderkinds Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg. Universal, a company that would rather be making this than The Dark Tower or At the Mountains of Madness, plans for an April 2012 release.
Crave Online will return with more American Reunion news. We’re positive we left our invitation around here somewhere…
