Massive Attack, Franz Ferdinand Headline Harvest Festival

The Harvest Festival announced its 2013 lineup on Triple J on Friday and will feature headline acts Massive Attack and Franz Ferdinand, touring the Australian East Coast in November.

Marking the first of the summer season festival announcements, Harvest Festival is being led by trip hop duo Massive Attack and Scottish indie rock band Franz Ferdinand.

Massive Attack has sold some 11 million albums spanning a 25 year career, producing iconic hits including ‘Unfinished Sympathy’ while Franz Ferdinand is set to release its first album in four years this August, entitled Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action.

Also appearing is electro duo Goldfrapp and Louisianian rock band Neutral Milk Hotel for their first ever Australian visit.

Bright Eyes frontman Conor Oberst will play with his project band Desaparecidos. Also filling out 2013’s hot lineup is Eels, CSS, The Drones, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, M Ward, Superchunk, The Wallflowers, and Walk Off The Earth.

In its third year, Harvest will visit Melbourne (Werribee Park) on November 10, Sydney (The Domain) on the 16th and Brisbane (City Botanic Gardens) on the 17th.

Harvest became the first of the summer season festival to reveal its lineup and if last year was anything to go by, next up should be Big Day Out.
