Founded in Northern Ireland in 2000, The Answer have spent the last 13 years honing their rock chops and making the kind of eardrum-threatening gut-puncher music that separates the truly great from the merely adequate. Now the band are poised to unleash their fourth studio album, New Horizon – it’s not just the strongest, catchiest and most thrillingly vital album of their career to date, but also a fearsome statement of intent that showcases their trademark rock n’ roll evangelism.
Kicking off a unique approach to making new friends with American audiences, the band is rocking a series of pub crawl sessions to break the international ice. Over the course of the next several weeks CraveOnline’s going to be bringing you exclusive premieres of the New Horizon Drinking Sessions, as the band makes its way through New York and beyond. A personal message from singer Cormac Neeson, who is rapidly nearing the top of our drinking-buddy wish list:
“It’s Cormac from The Answer here. It’s been a while since we’ve been in your fine land on tour with those might rock giants AC/DC and boy do we miss you!
However we have been damn busy working on our new album, called “New Horizon” and which is ready to be unleashed! The first single is a track called “Spectacular” and I can tell you we had some fun making this one – lots of kids having a great party and we managed to completely trash somebody’s house in Northern Ireland…..and there was a fair bit of nudity on the go! In typical Irish fashion we’ve also shot a series of online videos of us lot in Irish pubs extolling the virtues of some famous Irish drinks including Guinness, Poitin and Whiskey to mention a few! Jeezuz Johnny, what did you expect, we’re Irish after all! – you only need to be old enough to hold a glass in Ireland to get into the pub! Hope you like the new Spectacular video and all the drinking session vids! Stay tuned and get ready for The Answer coming back out to the US of A!”
New Horizon will arrive this September, with artwork created by much-missed album art legend Storm Thorgerson (Pink Floyd/Led Zeppelin/Muse). A large-scale tour will follow shortly after.
