Linkin Park announced today via their official site that they’re inviting fans to win a trip to Los Angeles to record with the band for an upcoming new release.
Linkin Park have teamed up with Red Bull Studios and Hard Rock Cafe for the special promotion leading up to the band’s upcoming LPU13 offering, due out later this year. Available to Linkin Park Underground members only (join here: www.LPUnderground.com), the offer is the next step in LPU’s ongoing annual effort to release a CD of rare and unreleased tracks from Linkin Park. For the upcoming LPU13 album, the band is seeking aspiring musicians to submit an original song that could end up on the album.
“Since our inception, we’ve relied on the input and support of our exceptionally dedicated fan base,” says LP guitarist Brad Delson. “Beyond sharing our music and art with the LP community at large, we relish opportunities to empower our fans to share their many talents with us. We’re excited to announce we will continue that tradition through the LPU Sessions, a one of a kind collaborative music-making project. The LPU Sessions will allow fans to submit original material with a chance to work hands on with the band in the studio.”
Here’s how it works: Your song must be an original piece of music of any genre (Rock, Pop, Hip Hop, EDM, etc.). You can be as a DJ, solo artist, or band (up to 6 members will qualify for the grand prize). Upload the audio of your original piece of music to your Youtube channel, and include a static image of your band or artist name or logo in place of the video. Please no live or produced music videos of your song. Also include your band name and song title of as the title of your video and list all band members and their role (i.e. Brad Delson- Guitarist) in the description portion on Youtube. Log into your account at LPUnderground.com/LPUSessions, and upload your newly created Youtube link starting on July 22nd through August 4th.
LPU Headquarters will listen to all submissions and narrow the entries down to 10 finalists. The 10 finalists will be announced on August 12th. The top 10 will then be showcased on LPUnderground.com, where LPU members will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite finalist starting August 12th. Members can vote once a day until August 25th.
The 2 finalists who receive the highest number of votes will be Grand Prize Winners. The winners will be announced on September 3rd. The Grand Prize Package includes round trip tickets to Los Angeles, 2 night hotel accommodations, roundtrip airport transfers from Los Angeles, 2 days in the Red Bull Studio with Linkin Park, a wrap party at the Hard Rock Café Hollywood and a Hard Rock Café gift pack.
