Arctic Monkeys To Tour Australia In 2014

The Arctic Monkeys will visit Australia in 2014 according to frontman Alex Turner.

Turner expects the band to visit in the first half of next year.

“I reckon we’re coming in 2014,” Turner told Triple J’s Lindsay McDougall earlier this year, “probably in the first half [of the year].”

“I don’t really know when [exactly], but it’s going to happen. I can hear the whispers in the next room. We’ll have to get together with the grown-ups again and figure that one out.”

Turner’s statement comes on the back of drummer Matt Helders’ recent interview with Tone Deaf saying, “We definitely are [coming to Australia], I just don’t know exactly when yet. It’s one of our favourite places to play, so we’ll be down there for sure.”

Earlier in the week we brought the full album stream of the band’s upcoming fifth studio album on September 9.

Arctic Monkeys were rumoured to be part of a number of Australian summer festivals, including another headline spot at Big Day Out.

The boys have returned since their 2009 BDO tour and were last in Australia for Falls Festival in 2011, combining the date with a few headline shows of their own.
