GTA Online has been home to a few bugs and issues, to say the least, since it launched last week, none more frustrating than the loss of characters and/or character progress. Rockstar Games recently stated it would investigate the cause of the widespread issue, and now has bad news for those affected.
Rockstar posted the following in a comment on its latest Newswire post:
For those asking about their lost characters or rank, those will not be able to be restored so we sincerely hope that this cash stimulus we’re giving out this month will help you get back on your feet or to make your new life in Los Santos & Blaine extra sweet.
The stimulus package will compensate every player who has or will play during the month of October with GTA$500,000 in two separate payments. Can money buy satisfaction? Responses are evenly split on the Newswire where some players are outraged at the amount of work they’ve lost, while others are thrilled to be given a massive sum of money which can be used to buy property, vehicles, and much more in the game world.
GTA Online finally appears to be standing on its feet with the first week’s insurmountable instability being a thing of the past. There are still a few more concerns to iron out, but as a whole Rockstar has responded diligently to the overwhelming demand of consumers who want to play Grand Theft Auto with friends.
Stay tuned for more information regarding the stimulus package and when it’ll arrive. In the meantime, get to work on leveling your new character up to the point you were at on your deleted character.
