The Dandy Warhols are set to become the next big international act expected to visit Australia in 2014.
The band let slip via their official Twitter account of a Down Under visit planned for next year when quizzed by an Australian fan.
Currently travelling around the US on a Thirteen Tales From Urban Bohemia 13th anniversary tour, the Portland four-piece last visited Australia in 2012 as part of the now defunct Harvest Festival.
The band have shown Australian fans a lot of love in the past, releasing a special edition of influential aforementioned album entitled Seven Tales For Urban Australia– a five-track EP released during a previous tour.
The Dandy Warhols have actually enjoyed more chart success in Australia with three albums reaching top 25 status on the ARIA Charts, including 2003’s Welcome To The Monkey House at No.5, as opposed to a high of No.83 in the US for last year’s This Machine. The band has also enjoyed impressive chart success in the UK, Ireland and Norway.
They join the co-headlining Nine Inch Nails and Queens Of The Stone Age tour, Cyrstal Fighters, Vampire Weekend, Hunters & Collectors, Lynyrd Skynyrd as acts to announce Australian visits for next year, as well as festival appearances from Eminem, Macklemore and many others.
Silverchair are still in what has now been a two-year hiatus, however frontman Daniel Johns is working on his first solo release and has asked for some acclaimed help.
Nearly 20 years since Silverchair hit the forefront of the Aussie music scene, Johns is finally going it alone and is working alongside producer and songwriter Joel Little, who co-wrote Lorde’s hugely successful debut Pure Heroine.
“He’s working on his solo record. I’ve always been a fan of those guys, so it’s been really cool to do some stuff with him,” admitted Little in an interview with Billboard.
Little played a part in every track, including Royals, from the Lorde release and is benefiting for the album’s success.
“It’s definitely opened some doors,” he said. “Having a hit song makes people take a bit more notice of you.”
