Paloma Faith has said that she believes the lack of radio airplay her recent single is receiving is a “personal” slight on her.
Speaking to the Daily Star, the singer spoke of how little coverage track ‘Can’t Rely On You’, which features Pharrell Williams, has received, saying: “Some of the main radio stations are not playing it. I have no idea why. I think it’s strange because it’s been produced by the biggest producers in the world,”
She added: “I can only see it as personal. I don’t know why because I don’t know what I could’ve done.”
It is likely Paloma is referring to BBC Radio 1, who have decided to leave the track off of their playlists despite it containing the key ingredients the station usually laps up, i.e. Pharrell.
Nevertheless, ‘Can’t Rely On You’ currently sits in eighth place on the Official Chart Company’s midweek chart, with Paloma thanking her fans for propelling her to the chart placing. “I’m quite refreshed because at least my fan-base is strong”, she said. “It’s in the Top 10 on iTunes without any radio stations playing it.”
