Lorde has announced a massive six-stop Australian tour kicking off in April.
The 17-year-old sensation made the short notice announcement on Triple J on Monday morning, declaring the Australian capital city tour set to visit some of the country’s biggest venues.
“I’m so pumped”, Lorde told Triple J Breakfast. “I’ve only played the smaller clubs in Australia and the festival [circuit]. I’m ready to play my own shows in large venues”.
The New Zealander raced to international success last year with the hit single ‘Royals’, becoming one of the youngest artists ever to produce a No.1 hit in the US.
Australian audiences will be treated to a new light show accompanying Lorde’s live sets, which will be debuted across the US in the coming weeks.
“It’s definitely a step up” she said. “We’ve really stepped up our production and light show; it’s a whole new thing now. I don’t want to give anything away, but it’s pretty special.”
