Canadian comic Russell Peters has announced his return to Australia for a 2018 stand-up tour, as part of his new show Deported.
Hitting some huge indoor venues in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane in February, Peters will be packing all-new material and (of course) just the right amount of awkward audience interaction.
The tour will be Peters’ first Aussie jaunt since 2015, and will be supported by American comedian Jake Johannsen, who once allegedly turned down the role of George Costanza in Seinfeld, according to, well, Jerry Seinfeld.
“Australia was the first country to embrace me internationally when I started my solo tours in 2006,” says Peters. “They’re not politically correct and are able to laugh at our so-called differences.”
Peters returns to Australia off the back of his latest Netflix special Almost Famous, as well as his own Netflix comedy-drama The Indian Detective, which is set to air in December.
