CraveOnline’s Music Showcase at SXSW 2014 was by all accounts a smash success, with a packed house cramming in at Rusty’s in Austin to see Semi Precious Weapons, Miniature Tigers and Queen Caveat rock the house, as well as Los Angeles hip hop duo MellowHype, featuring rapper Hodgy Beats (Gerard Long) and producer Left Brain (Vyron Turner) of Odd Future.
We knew the party would get crazy when Hodgy & Left Brain took to the patio stage, but we had no idea that a hurricane of moshpit-frenzy awesome was about to ensue, as nearly all of Odd Future – Earl Sweatshirt, Tyler The Creator, Schoolboy Q, Taco and Jasper – joined MellowHype for a performance that was chaotically surreal.
