New Disclosure Music Will Have To Wait Until Next Year

English electronic music duo Disclosure say new material from the Lawrence brothers will have to wait until 2015 at the earliest.

Touring Australia with the Groovin’ The Moo festival, Disclosure discussed their hectic travel schedule with Triple J and the stress that places on writing new material.

“It feels like we’ve been touring for three years” Howard Lawrence told Triple J. “We’ve toured a year and a half off the back of the first album, and then a year or so before while we were writing it. There’s that famous saying where you get your whole life to make your first album and then a year to make your second one, but with us we had a year to make our first one. September will be the last gig of the Settle campaign, and then we’ll come back next year with some new stuff.”

The huge success of the band’s debut album Settle– No.1 UK, No.5 Australia, No.38 US (No.2 US Electric chart)- has also resulted in collaboration offers from a number of A-grade acts. Settle featured vocal stints from London Grammar and Sam Smith and more big feature guests look likely to appear on the sophomore release.

“We’re getting a lot of offers to work with huge establish artists,” Guy said. “Some of which we will, and some of which we won’t. An aspect of Settle that people really liked was that we worked with up-and-coming artists. And I liked that – it was all about the music. When you’ve got the big acts sometimes it’s all about the planning of what you do afterwards and not about the music. I hate that.”

Led by sets from Disclosure, Dizzee Rascal, Vance Joy, Violent Soho and Karnivool, Groovin’ The Moo kicked off its 2014 regional tour last week with days in Oakbank (SA), Maitland (NSW) and Canberra. The festival has three more upcoming stops- Bendigo on May 3, Townsville on May 4 and Bunbury on May 10.
