The Horrors have criticised Lily Allen for selling her new album Sheezus for 99p via an online retailer, claiming that it’s a ploy to get the LP to the top of the UK charts.
Fans are able to purchase the entire album for the bargain price from the Google Play store, though many have lambasted the decision and have claimed that it gives the singer an unfair advantage.
Rhys Webb of The Horrors, who have just released their latest album Luminous, told the Daily Star: “Her record company have done that to give Lily a surefire Number One. Albums should be something that are there for a lifetime.”
Inevitably, Sheezus has reached number one, hitting the top spot of the UK’s midweek chart. Allen sits 12,000 albums ahead of Paolo Nutini who’s at the number two spot, while The Horrors are at number six.
