Considering the Game of Thrones star’s acting pedigree, it was surprising that the largest criticism that was made about the Destiny alpha was Peter Dinklage’s voiceover work.
Assuming the role of the game’s AI companion, Dinklage’s work on Bungie’s upcoming shooter was widely mocked, especially his delivery of the hokey line “That wizard came from the moon!” Bungie even capitalized on the phrase, putting it on a t-shirt and selling it on the Bungie store.
However, Bungie has confirmed that Dinklage’s voiceover work has been updated for the beta build of the game, and will receive a further update in the finished release of the game.
“Funny thing about Alpha builds…they’re not done. Please pardon our Moon dust!” Bungie stated in a recent newsletter. Speaking about the commemorative t-shirt, which became the top-selling item on the Bungie store, the developer said: “We love that you can lean in and laugh with us, and even better, we love that you continue to blow us away with your generosity.”
Bungie also used the newsletter to announce the trophies and achievements that will be featured in Destiny, which you can view in full below.
Destiny will be released on the PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 9th.
