Every so often, perfect timing makes for perfect circumstance. Jay Electronica‘s set at the tenth-anniversary Brooklyn Hip-Hop Fest on Saturday was stacked with guest appearances from Mac Miller, J. Cole and even the Roc Nation boss Jay Z.
Jay Z’s On the Run Tour with Beyoncé passed through New York just as the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival was celebrating its 10th anniversary this weekend, and Hova took advantage of a break between two shows at New Jersey’s MetLife stadium to swing through on Electronica’s headlining slot.
Mr. Carter dropped a verse over Big Daddy Kane’s “Young Gifted and Black” with support from labelmate Electronica, before rolling into “We Made It,” the Soulja Boy remix from the duo of Jays. They then followed with their 2010 collaboration “Shiny Suit Theory” and the Jay Z solo hit “P.S.A. (Public Service Announcement)”. Check out clips below, courtesy of DailyMotion.
Additionally, Electronica brought out Mac Miller for “Suplexes Inside of Complexes and Duplexes,” while J. Cole and Talib Kweli performed with him on “Just Begun”.
