Patent Pending are the latest act to be confirmed for the Soundwave 2015 lineup. The New York pop-punk outfit are the latest addition to a roster that currently features Ne Obliviscaris, Confession and Coldrain, and the latest to come via Music Feeds’ First Wave announcements.
The band was initially set for the 2014 Vans Warped Tour Australia, but after it was confirmed that tour would not be leaving US borders this year, Soundwave promoter AJ Maddah brought the boys over to his flagship event.
Forming in 2001 and hailing from Mount Sinai, New York, Patent Pending have garnered acclaim from outlets across the globe for their tongue-in-cheek humour reminiscent of the Beastie Boys, and their spectacular live performances, which are filled with gags, stunts and audience interaction.
Meanwhile, the band’s uplifting melodies and sing-along choruses have seen them draw comparisons to fellow pop-punk stalwarts like former touring partners Bowling For Soup, as well as bands like Simple Plan, Zebrahead, Sparks The Rescue, I Call Fives, and American Hi-Fi.
The band’s last release was 2013’s Brighter, which was acclaimed for the band’s witty humour and creative eagerness. Patent Pending are bound to be one of the most memorable acts of the Soundwave 2015 tour, leaving punters with plenty of unforgettable memories.
