Heavy Montreal in Parc Jean-Drapeau runs this weekend on August 9th and 10th, and offers attendees two full days of music and the arts.
On the lineup this year is Metallica, The Offspring, Anthrax, Slayer, Dropkick Murphys, Lamb of God, Twister Sister, Fucked Up, The Vandals, and Bad Religion, to name just a few. For a full daily schedule, click here.
There are three official pre- and after-parties. The Annual Heavy Montreal Official BBQ will include guests Bat Sabbath, Biblical, Eagle Tears, and Boids on Friday, August 8th at Katacombes at 8pm, and the Swashbuckle with Rainbowdragoneyes is taking place on Saturday, August 9th at Katacombes at midnight. Fucked Up will be hosting another event with Solids on Sunday, August 10th at Katacombes starting at midnight.
Heavy Montreal is the evolution of the Heavy MTL festival and is run by the same team that has produced Heavy MTL since the very first edition in 2008. However, Heavy Montreal states on its website that they’ve made a conscious effort to invite more musical genres to the party including the best of punk and hard rock alongside all degrees of metal as seen at previous editions of the festival.
