Sony has previously made remarks about announcements prepared for this year’s Gamescom. One of those announcements is big enough of a deal to warrant its own teaser video a week before Sony’s Press Conference where it’ll be unveiled.
Currently, the only previously confirmed game that bears resemblance to what’s in the short video above is Until Dawn, a title by Supermassive Games.
Until Dawn was revealed to be in development more than a year ago, but has been secretive since. It will be centered around the player who is accompanied by several others vacationing in a snow-ridden cabin who soon become the target of a menacing serial killer. It will supposedly use the DualShock 4’s light bar—the PlayStation Move can be used, too—as an input for the protagonist’s flashlight, a key element of its horror adventure gameplay.

If this isn’t Until Dawn, then it’s likely a completely new announcement, which invites limitless possibilities.
Sony will host its Gamescom Press Conference on August 12th at 7:00PM.
