Microsoft’s Press Conference
Evolve’s beta will come to Xbox One exclusively in January
Nice! Microsoft must be very happy about this one. It doesn’t change the fact that Turtle Rock’s monster-hunting extravaganza has been delayed until next year, however. What, you thought the beta would come after launch?
White Sunset Overdrive Xbox One bundle coming this October
As is the trend lately, we have yet another Xbox One bundle. If you want the console and also want Sunset Overdrive, I imagine you’ll want this. Are we done here? There’s also a FIFA 15 version.
Fable Legends’ multiplayer beta will begin October 16th
Lionhead’s cooperative RPG will finally be ready for player testing this October, though it remains to be seen how much hype the dungeon crawler can realistically generate. We still don’t know what the beta entails, either.
Xbox One pre-loading support announced
If this is something you feel you have to have, rest easy knowing you’re going to have it (weirdo). Select games, beginning with FIFA 15, will be able to download ahead of release if you pre-order, rendering them instantly playable when the launch date arrives. I’ll admit its cool if you’ve been salivating over something for months.
Halo Channel and Halo 5 beta dates revealed
Halo 5: Guardians‘ beta will begin December 29th. Are you ready? Well, too bad. Watch Halo shows and movies with Halo Channel while you wait. Microsoft says Halo channel is “your home for Halo.”
Rise of the Tomb Raider is an Xbox One exclusive
Big win for Microsoft, puzzling move for Square, sucks for PlayStation owners. Any questions?
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Xbox One bundle announced
Another bundle! This time with a beefy 1TB hard drive. It’s limited edition and also includes a copy of the game.
Quantum Break gets an 8-minute gameplay demo
The game looks interesting, taking Remedy Entertainment’s success into some uncharted territory. Clearly the visual prowess of the Xbox One is being utilized.
Assassin’s Creed Unity gets a new trailer
Mostly just Unity showing off its good looks, which I’m completely fine with. Some groovy music playing in the background too.
Below shown for first time since E3 2013
Below is a top-down adventure game, where you control a “tiny warrior exploring the depths of a remote island.” Developer Capy appears to be on to something; there’s some really awesome imagery here.
Ghost of a Tale announced
In Ghost of a Tale you control Tilo, a “tiny minstrel mouse,” and explore a “dangerous world.” It actually looks quite nice. I’m anxious to see more.
Third-person MOBA Smite coming to Xbox One
Smite, a popular third-person MOBA on PC, will release for Xbox One in the near future. Who said Microsoft doesn’t like bringing PC games to Xbox?
The Escapists announced
A “lighthearted and clever prison break game,” The Escapists actually looks pretty darn charming. At least, the trailer makes it seem that way.
Sandbox game Space Engineers announced
A game about the “engineering, construction, and maintenance of structures in space.” Players can build, pilot ships, and mine the materials they need.
FPS Superhot announced for Xbox One
Superhot is super-stylized, and also seems super-unique. Time only moves when you do, which will of course open up dozens upon dozens of clever gameplay opportunities.
Dying Light gets a new trailer
Pump up the jams, man. The game seems similar to how it was at E3, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Four-player co-op is a nice touch, too.
Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris gets a new trailer
This was announced at E3, and is similar to its predecessor; four-player action, from an angled top-down perspective. If you’re a Tomb Raider junkie then you’ll probably want to check it out.
Forza 5 gets a couple new trailers
One shows off the Infiniti car pack, while the other focuses on the game’s social features via developer interviews.
And that’s all for now, folks. Stay tuned in the coming days for news from the remainder of the show.
