Falls Festival 2014 Lineup

Music fans were abuzz last week after it was announced that the Falls Festival 2014/2015 lineup would be arriving on Monday, and now that day has arrived. Glass Animals, alt-J, SBTRKT, Jamie XX, Spiderbait and more are poised to perform at the usual festival stops in Marion Bay, Lorne and Byron Bay this December, to bring in the new year with a bang.

Falls Festival’s 2014/2015 dates and locations were unveiled back in July, confirming with punters that festival organisers have decided to once again return to the Byron Bay site following a very successful maiden event at the end of 2013. Organisers have also confirmed that Falls Festival 2014/2015 will operate with the “same days and timelines” as last year’s event, with 1st January acting as the festival’s “exit day”, as it is not an official event day.

The Falls Festival 2014/2015 lineup has slowly begun to leak over the last few weeks. As Music Feeds reports, the rumours began with the lineup for the Secret Sounds Falls & Splendour SXSW Showcase, as well as showcases organised by Laneway Festival promoters, which had both previous given strong hints as to which artists would be travelling Down Under to play Falls at the end of the year.

More precise leaks only seeped through rather recently, with German duo Milky Chance, who are now confirmed to play at Falls, recently suggesting that they wanted to play Australia soon. Songwriter Clemens Rehbein told triple j that the pair were eyeing festivals in January to make their Australian debut.

Fellow Falls 2014/2015 act Spiderbait hinted at a potential Falls Festival appearance after drummer and vocalist Kram told Gold Coast media, “I think there’s talk of doing Falls Festival and we’ll do some other festivals in the summer but we’re happy where things are at the moment.”

US ambient producer Tycho and UK indie band Glass Animals have also both been confirmed for the festival’s 2014/2015 celebrations. Music Feeds confirmed that Tycho had let the news slip after festival dates began appearing on his website, whilst Glass Animals were described in a recent Cleo Magazine issue as having been announced for Falls Festival 2014/2015.

A “mystery headliner” is also set to be announced later today for Falls Festival 2014/2015. The announcement will be made on triple j’s The Doctor program with Lindsay McDougall, which begins at 3pm AEST.

Other acts set to perform at Falls Festival 2014/2015 include The Black Lips, Bluejuice, The Kite String Tangle, George Ezra, The Presets, The Temper Trap, Jagwar Ma and Vance Joy. The full lineup is available below, alongside festival dates and locations.
