Ubisoft has stated that it believes the launch of its upcoming driving game The Crew will be a successful one, hopefully bettering the poor, glitch-laden release of Assassin’s Creed: Unity.

Though The Crew is being developed by an entirely different team, with Ivory Tower taking the reins as opposed to Unity’s Ubisoft Montreal, the poor launch of the latest Assassin’s Creed game has made consumers wary of the publisher/developer. However, the game’s lead designer Serkan Hasan has claimed that those suspicions will go unfounded, with him telling The Metropolist that he has “confidence in the stability of the game and its performance” and that his team “have what it takes to make [this] a successful launch.”
He also stated that the game will run at 1080p and a consistent 30fps at launch, something which Unity struggled with as its framerate frequently dipped below the 30 mark, sometimes even falling below 20fps.
Hasan continued to discuss the online issues that frequently plague modern games, saying that The Crew will not be crippled by these same issues. “The launch of any online game these days has potential issues,” Hasan said. “But I hope that players will be encouraged by our open approach. If you had any doubts that we could pull this off, I hope that the betas proved our credentials and the game’s stability.”
It remains to be seen whether Hasan and the rest of the team will be able to live up to these claims, but we’ll just have to wait until The Crew‘s December 5th release date to find out.
