Square Enix Hiring Developer for a Final Fantasy XV Online Game

Square Enix has posted a job listing for a “designing, development, and management planner for a new online game related to Final Fantasy XV.”

Final Fantasy XV is the next entry in the mainline Final Fantasy series, though thus far Square hasn’t made any mention of it having a multiplayer component. Though this job listing isn’t official confirmation that such a thing exists, it now seems more than likely that the game will feature some form of online multiplayer, perhaps in the form of some sort of mini-game (chocobo racing, anyone?)

The job listing also states that Square is looking for  someone familiar with “online management, production of a game with fees, management experience, knowledge of game system calculations, as well as interest, curiosity, and/or experience with PC games.” Considering that Final Fantasy XV has only been announced for PS4 and Xbox One, this could either mean that the game will be released on the PC on a later date, or that Square wants to equip the game with features typical of an online PC game.

Information is light on the ground at the moment, but considering the success of Final Fantasy MMO A Realm Reborn, this is certainly intriguing news.
