Game of Month: Dying Light
Welcome to 2015, a year that a lot is expected from when it comes to video games. Although it’s heavily equipped with the most anticipated upcoming AAA and indie titles known to man, it’s going to start off a bit slow.
January is always a dry month for games. Thankfully, this year the month isn’t too bad. There are five major installments worth keeping an eye out for, including the long-awaited Dying Light .

January 2015 Video Game Release Calendar
January 20th - Resident Evil HD Remaster
Platforms: PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One
The original Resident Evil was the first horror game that experienced critical success. Arriving in 1996, it was ahead of its time with a great blend of scares, action combat, and survival mechanics, all bolstered by a gripping narrative.
On January 20th the game will be re-released digitally with remastered visuals that update the 18 year old game for modern times. The visuals are far more detailed than before, and the game even has upgraded controls and high quality sound. If you're a Resident Evil fan, then it'll be a treat to retread one of gaming's most memorable experiences with the benefits of today's hardware.
January 20th - Saint's Row IV: Re-Elected & Gat out of Hell

Saints Row: Gat out of Hell Platforms: PC, PS3, PS4, XBox 360, Xbox One
Saints Row has been quiet for a while, but on January 20th it'll make a big comeback into gaming discussions. For one, a remaster for next-gen consoles is releasing which not only includes a fully upgraded original game, but the brand new expansion, Gat out of Hell .
Gat out of Hell is an over the top adventure that features Johnny Gat as he ventures to Hell. There are new abilities, activities, and much more that give Saints Row fans more to dig into.
January 27th - Dying Light
Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One
Zombies are making an early debut in 2015 withnot only the previously mentioned Resident Evil HD Remaster , but Dying Light , a survival game set in Urfa, Turkey. Unlike most zombie and horror games, you'll have the ability to traverse the environment quickly using parkour. You'll need it, too. Dying Light has a dangerous world where supplies are limited, and at night your odds of survival aren't in your favor.
It's worth noting that developer Techland dumped the last-generation versions of the game to concentrate on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
January 27th - Grand Theft Auto V (PC)
Platforms: PC (previously on Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4)
The best version of one of the highest-rated games in history is nearing debut. The PC version of Grand Theft Auto V includes not only all the perks of the Xbox One and PS4 versions, such as first-person view and a graphical overhaul, but denser traffic, upgraded A.I., and graphical settings that allow you to push it beyond what the new consoles are capable of.
Given the history of Grand Theft Auto PC ports, it's likely that it'll be very demanding, but will become the new benchmark for hardware. If you've just upgraded your PC, or are simply interested in pushing it to its limits, this game is sure to deliver the proving grounds that you're looking for.
January 27th - Grim Fandango: Remastered
Platforms: PC, PS4, PS Vita
Grim Fandango is one of a kind, earning it accolades when it debuted in 1998. It's labeled a "dark comedy neo-noir adventure game", but all you really need to know is that it's an extremely well-written adventure that involves some of gaming best puzzle solving.
The remastered version boasts graphical improvements and a variety of improvements that help bring the game to life for the modern age. If you've never played the game before, now would be a great time.
