Resident Evil HD Remaster - Everything You Need to Know
One of the best Resident Evil games
If you didn't play Resident Evil during its earlier years, you may wonder why it sticks around—Resident Evil 5 and 6 weren't all that great. The truth is that while the series has had issues with quality control recently, it was one of the best IPs in gaming for a length of time.
The original Resident Evil is one of the best survival horror games in history, and being able to relive it without compromising its original style is a great opportunity for anyone who loves the genre.
Two control options
If you played the original Resident Evil , you may be glad to hear that the classic control scheme is supported. However, that method of input (up to move forward, sideways to turn, etc.) will feel outdated for many gamers, so there is a second control option that will allow you to move the character in the direction of the analog stick. You will be able to toggle between both in-game to see which one you prefer.
The graphics are incredible
Resident Evi l is a game with 3D characters superimposed on pre-rendered backdrops, but that doesn't mean it can't be beautiful. This HD remaster has seen improvements from every angle, to a point where its static environments have been re-crafted in 3D. Made better, the environments are now in HD, and have seen benefits from post-processing effects. While it retains a lot of what made the original Resident Evil iconic, its visuals are unmistakably better than they were in 1996.
Previously released on GameCube
You may not know this, but Resident Evil already had an HD remaster on GameCube. It released in 2002, and was a smash hit earning an average rating of over 90% from critics.
This HD remaster is based off that early remaster, with a few new additions of its own, and support for several platforms.
The audio has gotten a lot better
The sampling rate of the audio has seen a significant increase since the original game's release. You can expect to have a much clearer acoustic experience. Also, there will be 5.1 channel support if you have a surround sound setup.
Widescreen support
The original static camera design of Resident Evil posed a problem for modern 16:9 setups. So, Capcom went back to the drawing board and found a way to implement widescreen support. Now, you have a wider view angle, but can still see everything in the vertical plane thanks to camera panning. You can even switch between 4:3 and 16:9 on the fly to customize your experience.
