Sundance 2015: Bibbs’ Sundance Forecast [Video]

Okay, Sundancers, rise and shine, and don’t forget your booties ’cause it’s cooooold out there today! CraveOnline has landed in Park City, UT and they’re braving the icy weather to give you the latest update on Sundance 2015.

William Bibbiani is on hand, wearing his cuddliest hat, in front of the The MARC Theater where some of the biggest films this Sundance Film Festival has to offer are going to premiere. Many of the most acclaimed and most important movies in history have debuted at Sundance, and it’s looking like this year may be no exception.

Last year, Sundance introduced the world to the Oscar contenders Boyhood and Whiplash, the latter of which CraveOnline went on to call The Best Movie of 2014. And that’s just a small sample of the great films that have been discovered at Sundance.

What are we looking forward to this year? We’ve got our list of the most anticipated films, the films you don’t want to miss, but the important thing to remember is that the whole point of Sundance is to discover something entirely new and unexpected, a film that comes out of nowhere to be the next Memento, the next Donnie Darko, or the next Reservoir Dogs. Or if that’s too “kickass” for you, we could discover the next great thoughtful indie filmmaker. After all, it was Sundance who gave us The Coen Bros., Richard Linklater, Todd Solondz and Steven Soderbergh.

But for now all eyes are on the returning champions of Sundance to really wow the attendees at Sundance 2015. American Splendor directors Shari Springer Berman & Robert Pulcini are back with Ten Thousand Saints, a new coming of age tale starring Ethan Hawke (Boyhood), Asa Butterfield (Ender’s Game) and Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit). Meanwhile, The Spectacular Now director James Ponsoldt will be debuting his new drama The End of the Tour, starring Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network) as reporter David Lipsky and Jason Segel (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) as author David Foster Wallace, in a film that dramatizes their extended five day interview.

And for genre fans, Hostel director Eli Roth is here with Knock Knock, a new thriller starring Keanu Reeves (John Wick) as a family man left alone on Father’s Day, whose home has been invaded by two sexy young women (Lorenza Izzo and Ana de Armas) with some tricks up their sleeves.

What’s to come at Sundance 2015? Can Bibbs and his intrepid crew of star videographers survive? The answers await you as CraveOnline tackles Sundance 2015 all throughout the next week. Keep coming back for more news, reviews, interviews and videos!
