Iconic pairings are generally scaled to meet expectations, but this one is entirely out of left field – in a good way. Rihanna and Kanye West trade vocal duties as Paul McCartney strums an acoustic guitar in a surprisingly heartfelt, gentle track.
Kanye unveiled “FourFiveSeconds” to industry people at the iHeartRadio Summit on Jan. 21, but now the track is available online for everyone else.
“I think I’ve had enough/ Might get a little drunk/ I say what’s on my mind/ I might do a little time,” Ri sings to open the track, “Cause all of my kindness/ Is taken for weakness.”

Earlier, a spokesperson for West called his teaming with McCartney “a prolific musical collaboration,” and one wonders how the energy and arrangement of the track came to be. According to song contributor Ty Dolla $ign, who spoke to Billboard, a video was also shot and coming soon.
The track was reportedly planned for West’s upcoming album, but Rihanna posted it herself, calling it the “FIRST GLIMPSE AT MY NEW MUSIC”. Whoever it belongs to, it’s great.
