If there’s one thing Grand Theft Auto has never had a problem with, it’s achieving monumental sales. Its latest title is carrying the torch valiantly.
Take-Two Interactive has confirmed that over 45 million copies of Grand Theft Auto V have been shipped worldwide. The recent jump can be attributed to the game’s debut on Xbox One and PS4, where new and returning customers alike invested in the title for its improved graphics and new gameplay features. A whopping 10 million, in-fact.
Although not all 45 million copies have been sold-through to consumers, more than 35 million have. This figure alone makes it the fifth best-selling video game of all-time behind greats such as Tetris and Super Mario Bros. If it manages to sell all 45 million copies, it’ll reign at the #3 spot. That’s not something to take lightly.
